Hiring a Caravan or Owning?

Many families in the United Kingdom prefer to holiday in their own country and experience the many different aspects of a land that might normally not be open to them. It is surprising to note how many British residents have never holidayed at home and for many renting a caravan is the ideal way to do just that.

Why Hire a Caravan?

Hiring a caravan gives the individual – or family – the freedom to move around on holiday and visit more than one location during their break. Once you have hired your caravan for the duration of your holiday you are then libel only for your own expenses such as fuel, food and admission to any caravan park or holiday park you stay in during that time.

Many people consider the cost of hiring a caravan for a week or a fortnight to be much less than the cost of a package holiday abroad especially if there are children involved.

Mobile Homes

Hiring a mobile home for your holiday gives you the freedom and the option to visit any location of your choosing. The only limitations are your imagination and the amount of time you have free. For many the hiring of a mobile home is the ideal way to visit those places of natural beauty and historical interest on their native soil whilst still experiencing the independence of a foreign holiday.

In addition the whole family can stay under one roof and if the children become bored with one destination you have the option to move on somewhere else.

Mobile homes can be berthed overnight at a holiday park or caravan park for a nightly fee or for a block booking depending on the area you are visiting and how long you wish to stay there.

Mobile Homes – just like many modern ‘static’ caravans – offer all the comforts of home with the advantage of different scenery as and when you want it.

Static Caravans

A popular choice with many families – especially if they cannot afford to buy their own caravan and subsequently lease a site to keep it one – is the renting of a ‘static’ caravan. As the name would suggest this type of caravan remains on the same site all year round and can be hired on and off peak season. ‘Static’ caravans are normally kept within the confines of a caravan or holiday park which offer their own amenities such as shower blocks, toilet blocks and on-site shops.

For caravan users who are renting a caravan in a holiday park there is the added advantage of having ticket prices included in their rental cost for any fairground attractions or admissions to zoos and farms.

There are also activities for the children as well as the opportunity for the adults among the group to relax and wind down in a friendly pub or on-site restaurant.

There are hundreds of holiday and caravan parks up and down the country and you can find details of them online or at your local Tourist Information Centre.

Also it pays dividends to look in your local newsagent or free local news sheet as many private owners of caravans advertise locally in order to hire them out when they are not using them to holiday in themselves.
